The CAPE Gooseberries are the Canteen Amateur Performance Ensemble - made up of volunteer parents, carers and the odd teacher (well, not that odd, sorry Kenn). The faces may change from time to time but we all have one thing in common - Byron Bay Public School Canteen, and a love of public education.
As a response to the chronic underfunding of our, and all, public schools, we have decided to go global with our fundraising and plan to release our single In our own special way worldwide, hoping to gain Christmas Number 1 (or Number 2 in the UK, we are not fussy) across many nations, thus raising millions of dollars that we can then spread across public education in Australia as and where it is needed.
Sigh... Unfortunately, due to busy schedules all round, we have been unable to record this year, however we have it on good authority that there will most probably be a Christmas next year, so we are now setting our sites on a Christmas No. 1 for that one instead. We may well have an album by then too...
So keep watching this space!!!... Don't forget too, that another pantomime will be happening in 2009, so keep the 14th, 15th and 16th of May 2009 free for a giggle.
